David Wake was the Chairbeing of the Birmingham Science Fiction and Fantasy Society at the University of Birmingham. It was during his time at University that he created ‘drabbles’, stories of exactly 100 words. He’s been an active member of science-fiction fandom since the 80s. He started writing for the theatre in 1998, with 18 plays produced, winning awards and taking two shows to the Edinburgh Fringe.
It was while taking an MA in Creative Writing at Birmingham City University that he was introduced to Indie Publishing.
He’s published ten novels in paperback and ebook: near future tech thrillers I, Phone and the Thinkersphere trilogy of police procedurals, Hashtag, Atcode and Plus Sign, the steampunk series The Derring-Do Club and The Empire of the Dead, The Derring-Do Club and the Year of the Chrononauts, The Derring-Do Club and the Invasion of the Grey, and The Derring-Do Club in Death on the Suez as well as the political comantic comedy Crossing the Bridge and Roninko, a revenge thriller set in Samurai Japan.
His novella, The Other Christmas Carol, is out in paperback, ebook and audio book from Circle of Spears.
