Bright Lies, the new hard-hitting psychological thriller set in Birmingham, will be launched on Monday 23rd November and writer AA Abbott will host an online launch party with ex-police detective Marie Wright and forensic psychologist Prudence S Thomas as her guests.
“Marie and Prudence gave me a lot of advice when I was writing Bright Lies,” AA (real name Helen Blenkinsop) says. “In fact, I had plenty of help from other readers too, including clubbers and a couple of DJs.”
Bright Lies is about Emily, an art-obsessed teenager with a crush on a handsome artist, David. David exploits Emily’s trust until, isolated from anyone who can help her, she runs away from home. She’s given shelter in a Birmingham squat by Jack, a DJ in trendy Digbeth. However, Jack doesn’t realise that Emily is only 15 and that she’s on the run from a man desperate to silence her.
Bright Lies was described as “compelling drama that will keep you turning page after page” in a 5 star book review from respected American site Readers’ Favorite.
The book is available in ebook, paperback, large print and dyslexia-friendly formats. You can begin reading Bright Lies on Amazon by clicking on the cover.
