As if her strained finances, awful job and non-existent love life weren’t enough, young graduate Amy finds her flatmate has stolen her identity to marry an illegal immigrant for hard cash. But glamorous blonde Kat has disappeared. Desperate to clear her name, Amy starts looking for Kat – and discovers a killer’s on the trail too.
Helped by a hard-nosed Brummie vodka salesman, Kat’s brother thinks he can keep her safe in the Anchor tunnels below Birmingham’s Jewellery Quarter. Will Amy inadvertently give the game away?
With sub-plots involving a cancer cure, a City fraud and a cameo role for real-life local librarian Jackie Molloy, The Bride’s Trail is a rollercoaster crime thriller with twists at every turn.
AA Abbott, also known as Helen, writes crime thrillers set in Birmingham. Having lived in Harborne for many years, she was tempted south to Bristol for work. “I didn’t realise then that jobs come and go,” she says. “These days, I do temporary work in large corporations and take long breaks to write, getting back to Birmingham as often as I can – it’s where my heart lies.”
